Therapy with tuitional support

Different stressors such as family arguments, social conflicts, mourning, fears, physical and psychological fatigue etc, can lead directly to vocal problems without one being at all aware of it. We tend simply to notice that the voice sounds somewhat dull, that the act of singing just seems more straining, or that the seemingly “easiest” pieces are suddenly no longer to be mastered. One becomes tired whilst singing and speaking; register and vocal breaks become more noticeable.

External stressors can rapidly lead to psychological exhaustion, which can express itself through somatic disturbances, naturally also leading to singing/speaking technical problems such as irregular and unstable breath guidance, tight jaw and tongue, and additional concentration difficulties, which makes speeches and foreign language scores increasingly difficult to learn.

Continuing to speak and sing, despite increased vocal difficulties, usually results in a hypofunction / hyperfunction of the vocal chords. This can spell the end of a singing or presentational career.

Working on a physical and psychological level to release these blockages (i.e. pedagogical work supplemented with therapy) offers a focussed and efficient problem solution strategy, in order to restore healthy self-esteem and confidence in ones performing abilities as well as eradicating technical vocal problems.
